Creatively Unique Family Portrait

I have a pile of framed photos and portraits of my boys at all their various ages in a cabinet somewhere. Do you have a stack like that? They’ve all been on walls or tables or shelves at some point, but you just can’t leave every picture out forever.

With all of the changes to our family in the past couple of years there has been some picture swapping going on around the house. I’ve been relegating some of the boys’ senior photos to the cabinet stack to swap them out for pictures taken at both of their recent weddings.

One particular shelf area in our home has a collection of some of my favorite photos:

These pictures make my heart happy every single time I see them.

But there was a space that still needed something, and another photograph just didn’t feel right. I wanted some art, but wanted something personal.

I’d ordered a print of my son and daughter-in-law as a housewarming gift this past summer from our dear friend, Isabella’s new Etsy shop, and knew that was the vibe I wanted. I knew she’d work with me, too, to create something to match the ‘makes my heart happy’ feeling of the space.

Yup! She nailed it. Heart definitely happy.

Both pieces she made for me involved a little bit of back and forth with me asking for some tweaks like making someone a bit taller, or adjusting chin shape…things like that. I also asked a couple of questions that began with, “This may be a really stupid question but…” And as expected, Bella responded with the utmost in grace with her replies.

After working with you to make your piece just right, she’ll send you the file. When you get your download, you can print the file however you like. My favorites are the metal prints from Mpix, they’re just so clean and sharp. Their magnets make really cute gifts, too.

I think this is the coolest gift idea for so many people. For something really personal, you could get:
