Let's share what we've been perusing this week. From household tips, to spiritual growth...and everything in between!

This is going to be a ‘current events’ kind of Food for Thought.  News from the 2018 Winter Olympics as well as other moments that made me say ‘Whaaaaat?’ are compiled here for your perusal.  Some will hopefully make you laugh a little, others may make you do a double take and shake your head.

Enjoy!

Here’s what I’ve been reading:

Dutch mock Katie Couric’s statements about speedskating … at USA Today.     During the Opening Ceremonies, Katie Couric said that the reason that the Dutch are so good at speedskating is because skating is “an important mode of transportation in the city of Amsterdam… [when the] canals freeze in the winter.”   If you want a good laugh, read a number of the Tweets that this article quotes, or search ‘katie couric skating’ on Twitter.

Another Olympic gaffe happened to one Chicago TV station when they mistakenly put up the wrong graphic for their backdrop to Olympic coverage:

I thought this had to be a joke, but alas…no.  This article describes how it ended up on air.  These really are the most delicious Olympics ever.

And now a couple of the “Whaaaaat?” moments.  Both of these articles are ones I saw on The Daily Wire:

PC run amok:  ‘Peter Rabbit’ creators apologize for depicting villain’s blackberry allergy.  Yes really.

Female rabbi publishes the single stupidest piece on Biblical Adam and Eve ever written.   Claiming that God sexually harassed Eve– making her the first case of #MeToo– is only the start of this unfathomable assessment of Genesis.

And speaking of the crumbling failure we call academia:

This student failed her assignment because her professor said, “Australia isn’t a country”…. at Buzzfeed.

You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

What have you been reading?

*A brief disclaimer…I found these particular articles read-worthy.  That doesn’t mean that I agree with or advocate everything on the site on which individual posts appear.
