The Sparrow’s Home was created for sharing. I love having a time set aside to share things that we’ve been reading lately.
I would love to hear what you think, and see what you’ve had open on your desktop this week.
Here’s what I’ve been reading:
7 Things You Can Do to Feel Happier … at Success. I love that this list isn’t all about ‘taking care of yourself’ but includes ways to look outward. I think that lifts our eyes to joy more than any inward focus ever could.
The Power of the Critical Wife … at Rick Thomas. I come from a long line of critical women, so this article really hit a soft spot. He makes a great point, “If you want someone to mature in Christ then anger is not the method to get him there.” And doesn’t that apply to all of our relationships, not just marriage?!
What’s Wrong with Western Missionaries? … at Desiring God. I found this to be a fascinating peek into how missionaries are viewed, and really, how to minister better in general.
12 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Posting Something Online … at Church Leaders. Do you ever have Facebook foot-in-mouth-disease like I sometimes do? This list is pointed, Biblical advice to think through before sharing.
Service Scavenger Hunt Group Date … at The Dating Divas. How clever is this!?!? Free printables and suggestions for hosting a date night for a group in which couples go out and serve their community in various creative ways. I think this would be great for youth groups, or just a group of friends, too. So cool!
Porn is the Quickest Way to Cheat on Your Wife and Emasculate Yourself … at The Blaze. Pornography is a topic that my husband and I feel passionately about addressing. This article doesn’t pull any punches in addressing the issue and its effects. It’s important to remember that there are resources of hope and accountability available.
