Do you ever see a post or article and think, “That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking?!?” It feels oddly satisfying to have someone publish your thoughts. I found a bunch of those this week.
I would love to hear what you think, and see what you’ve had open on your desktop this week.
Here’s what I’ve been reading:
Stop Telling Me to Love Myself More … at God’s My Healer. I’ve been saying this for years, and I know I’m not the only one. The lie that “you can’t love someone else until you love yourself first” is anti-Biblical and keeps us in a state of perpetual selfishness. So what is the answer? Check it out!
This tender prayer by Antoine de Saint-Exupery will touch you … at Bright Side. I am a gigantic fan of The Little Prince. It reads like Proverbs to me (did you see the recent film adaptation on Netflix?!). This is a short read, a lovely prayer filled with wisdom and truth.
Environment is Stronger than Willpower … at Proverbs 31 Ministries. Oh the guilt of failing again. Making changes to our environment can set us up for success or failure. Get rid of the food, install accountability software, throw out his picture, put your Bible where you will see it… Whatever it is for you, the answer is likely not “try harder”.
The Reasons You Share Too Much on Social Media … at WomanPulse. Did someone immediately come to mind when you read that title? 🙂 Teens aren’t the only ones who are oversharing these days, take a minute to check yourself and your motives, too.
5 Things You Can Do Now to Prepare for Marriage … at Boundless. If you or someone you know is hoping to be married someday, chances are a LOT more time is spent on looking for the right qualities in another person. I can relate to what the author says,
While no amount of preparation would have made me the perfect bride, it could have helped me enter marriage as a more thoughtful, easier-to-live-with spouse.
11 Things Good Men Wish Women Knew about Dating Them … at Ilan Elanzen. Not being from a specifically Christian perspective, I can’t say I agree with every piece of advice here. But still worth the read. Lots of good points that come from a painfully honest place.
I was no Trump fan, but this hysteria is hypocritical … at LifeSite News. “In every instance, it is not what Donald Trump is doing that spawns the outrage, it is the fact that they have lost power. It’s not the methods he is utilizing, it is the fact that they disagree with his agenda.”
What have you been reading lately?
*A brief disclaimer…I found these particular articles read-worthy. That doesn’t mean that I agree with or advocate everything on the site on which individual posts appear.

Thanks so much for the mention Susan. I love to read what others are interested in and discover new posts. With so much out there for us to read its awesome that you share your favorites:)
You got it! You offered some great advice that many don’t even consider. Thanks for stopping by – –
