Like most summers, we have been on the road a fair amount the past couple of months. Between camps, conferences and such, I have felt a bit scattered at times (more than usual, I mean). 🙂
So it should make sense that I’ve been reading things all over the map lately, too, right? This week I’m sharing articles about marriage, parenting, Christian living, and more. All of them struck a chord with me in some way. I hope you find something that speaks to you as well! Blessings, friends.
Here’s what I’ve been reading:
How to deal with the annoying, silly preferences of your spouse … at Faithful Man. If you’re married, you have to relate to that title. I mean, what husband or wife hasn’t had to deal with this issue? The article even ends with a conversation starter for you and your spouse!
American children are immersed in a culture of disrespect … at Intellectual Takeout. All children are rude sometimes. What this article is addressing is the pervasive culture of rudeness that has developed over the past several decades. Three parenting rules are provided to help overcome this culture in your home.
5 steps to stop believing the lies of this world … at Fuel Your Fearless. Spot on advice, in my opinion. Especially #4.
Dealing with difficult people {help} … at Andy Lee. A lot of the advice here involves specific things to pray. I think that’s perfect, since trying to graciously deal with difficult people on our own will pretty much always result in failure.
Finding relief from your anxiety and escape from your fears … at Jerusha Agen. Hint: It involves doing something that may feel counter-intuitive.
5 Things I Miss About the South … at My Novel Life. My husband and I discuss #1, #2, and #3 at least once a week.
What have you been reading?
*A brief disclaimer…I found these particular articles read-worthy. That doesn’t mean that I agree with or advocate everything on the site on which individual posts appear.
I love the Culture of Disrespect article. They hit the nail right on the head. Disrespect is one thing we do not tolerate in our house. Our daughter says things sometimes that she hears on tv because she thinks they’re funny. Drawing a line in the sand is really important, but sometimes it’s a bit harder said than done. Thanks for the link fellow Southerner! 😉
You are welcome! And you’re spot on about easier said than done, but nonetheless important to work at.
