Start the year strong! Be inspired and challenged!
I would love to hear what you think, and see what you’ve had open on your desktop this week.
Here’s what I’ve been reading:
How Your Defensiveness is Preventing You from Being Successful … by Dale Partridge. “The secret to speeding up success is to enhance our ability to embrace correction regardless of how awkward, painful, or humiliating it might be.” Great advice, and valuable lessons that don’t pull any punches.
Does Christianity Limit Personal Freedom … at Restitutio. As you know I’m a sucker for a good analogy, and this short piece offers a couple of great ones! (As an aside, if you enjoy digging in to Scripture, I encourage you to spend some time on Sean’s site. He has some thought-provoking podcasts and videos to check out, as well as articles. )
Four Words That Will Radically Impact Your Hardest Relationships … at Divine Encounter. When people hurt us, our perspective makes all the difference in how we react, and how we move forward.
A Sobering Letter to the Wife with the Filthy House … at Imperfect Homemaker. This blogger received a question from a husband asking, “Is a filthy house grounds for a divorce?” Addressing the anonymous wife, this post is honest and to the point, yet kind.
Why is Pakistan More Legitimate Than Israel?… by Dennis Prager. “Of all the 200-plus countries in the world, only Israel’s legitimacy is challenged.” A fascinating article that makes some comparisons I hadn’t seen before, and asks some good questions. This video on ‘The Middle East Problem’ pairs nicely with it, and offers a perspective that you won’t see on the news, as does this list of telling statistics.
Have We Forgotten How to Blush?… at To Love, Honor, and Vacuum. Has guilt been given a bum rap? Does it serve a positive purpose? This author proposes that it does, and suggests that when we shun guilt from our culture we do it to our detriment.
Tales From the Laundromat … at Skipah’s Realm. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a laundromat. Reading this lighthearted account brought me right back…and clearly things haven’t changed a bit! This is funny. Be sure to read the captions on the pictures. I laughed out loud more than once!
What have you been reading? Do share!
*A brief disclaimer…I found these particular articles read-worthy. That doesn’t mean that I concur with or advocate everything on the site on which individual posts appear.
