Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

A collection of pumpkin recipes from classically traditional to creatively original.

I’m so old I remember when pumpkin was something you carved, not something you put in your coffee.  I do like a pumpkin spice latte, though, so there will be no complaining from me!  I wanted to put together a collection of pumpkin recipes for you to try this fall…er, should I say, pumpkin spice season.

I looked for recipes that I plan to try, or have already made.  I’ll be sure to let you know which ones I’ve already road tested for you.

And in case you have picky eaters like I do, I’ll give you a tip.  Years ago, when my boys adamantly refused to eat anything with the word ‘pumpkin’ in it, I began adding a dash of molasses and calling it ‘gingerbread’.  Sometimes I wouldn’t even add the molasses.  It’s a similar spice combination.  Hey, we do what works, right?  (I also called tomato soup “Spaghetti-O soup with no noodles”, and still hide vegetables in chocolate pancakes, so…)

But we were talking about pumpkin recipes.  So let’s get to it.

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes these three pumpkin breads, and a lot more!

1 – Caramel Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Bread … at Inside Bru Crew Life

2 – Pumpkin Bread with Maple Glaze … at Crazy for Crust

3 –  Cream Cheese Filled Pumpkin Bread … at Averie Cooks

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes these pumpkin pies, and a lot more!

4 – Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie … at Simply Recipes

5 – Ginger Pumpkin Tart … by Claire Robinson/5 Ingredient Fix – I made this and really liked it.  I added a little spice to the filling.

6 – Pumpkin Cheesecake … at Simply Recipes

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes these pumpkin cakes, and a lot more!

7 – Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler … at Lauren’s Latest

8 – Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake … at Lovely Little Kitchen

9 – Pumpkin Snack Cake … at Baked by Rachel

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes these pumpkin treats, and a lot more!

10 – Cinnamon Mini Cheesecakes with Pumpkin Pie Frosting … at Gimme Some Oven

11 – Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse … at Confessions of a Cooking Diva – While I haven’t made this exact recipe, I made something similar and used it as a dip for graham crackers and ginger snap cookies.  Delish!

12 – Pumpkin Spice Buttercream Frosting … at Two Sisters Crafting

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes these pumpkin treats, and a lot more!

13 – Warm Pumpkin Soother … at Heavenly Homemakers – This is decadently YUM.  I make her chocolate soother frequently, too. (We call it “Brownie Batter Hot Chocolate”)

14 – Pumpkin Cookies with Brown Sugar Frosting … at Creme de la Crumb

15 –  Pumpkin Pie Smoothies … at Shugary Sweets

And my favorite (even though no one else in my house will eat it) – –

This collection of pumpkin recipes includes this stuffed pumpkin, and a lot more!

16 –  Apples and Cranberries Baked in a Pumpkin … at Eat at Home

I’ve made this twice.  It’s so open to customizing, which is right up my alley!  I like mine with a handful of walnuts added.  The only tip I’d offer is to be sure to bake it long enough.  The second time I made it I didn’t, and ended up putting it back in to soften up the pumpkin flesh a little more.  It’s a side dish.  It’s dessert.  It’s breakfast.  It’s seriously delicious.

Give one or ten of these pumpkin recipes a try this fall!

Let me know which one’s your favorite.

All the pumpkin recipes look great but I would try the cobbler first. 9:30 at night is not a good time for me to be looking at deserts.

You’ve given me far too many recipes to consider but that doesn’t mean I won’t try to get them in this season.
